May is normally a pretty busy month for us...3 birthdays, an anniversary and Mother's day. We also always go out of town this month. But this month has been more than busy - it has been out of control. I've been quadruple booked.
Here are some of the highlights of the last month.
My 18 year old niece is in the army and stationed in Iraq. She got a two-week leave so we had a big barbecue for her at our house.
My daughter has had more school events than I can count. Today she has another violin concert which I have to leave for soon. She's just about to enter middle school. Where has the time gone?
We participated in her 5th grade car wash earlier this month...
there's actually something fun about watching kids wash your car for you..
We've driven about 700 miles to stay with my parents for a few days ...
at which point even the kids got worn out...
we volunteered to work at a parade...
and on top of all of that we remodeled a bathroom and a bedroom, fixed up the front yard, and about 5,000 other little things. The icing on the cake is that in just a few days I will have 10 people staying here for a week so I am scrambling like mad to get the house together and plan meals.
One other really good thing that happend this month is that my parent's neighbor and very good friend just successfully climbed Mt. Everest. We've been following her progress every day and were so excited when she made the summit (this was her fourth attempt). She's now climbed all seven summits (the highest peaks on each of the 7 continents).
Anyway, I still have lots to do so I better get back to it. Because I'm starting to feel like this guy...
