For the past couple of years I've actually completed my December Daily albums, which isn't always easy during the busy holidays. What I haven't done is any other kind of scrapbooking during December, including my kids' albums.
I thought during this "lull before the storm" it might be a good time for me to catch up. I started with my son's album and used Simple Stories' December Documented line.
I included a 6x8" insert to hold some extra photos.
On the back I added a journaling card with some holiday highlights. To save some time I just typed the journaling out on the computer and then added a cardstock sticker to it.
It feels good to start getting caught up. I will start working on my daughter's album next.
Since we have so much going on during the first part of December I am trying to get a jump start on the holidays. I had my Christmas cards printed on-line, but I decided to make my own envelopes to add a little twist this year.
I used Crate Paper's Bundled Up collection to make the envelopes.
All I did was to take an existing envelope and unfold it, and then trace it on to a piece of patterned paper.
I think these envelopes will bring lots of happiness when they find their way to friends' mailboxes.
One thing I like about using double-sided patterned paper for these, is that you have a built in envelope liner.
I added stickers to make room for addresses.
Tie a string around them, and they make great gift holders as well.
Drove through downtown this morning and holiday lights were being put up all over. The Tiffany store windows are up and they are perfection as always. Every year I think they have my favorite (2012, 2011, 2010) and then they come up with this...
sigh... Tiffany store windows make me happy.
Still putting together supplies for my December Daily. The first few days of December are going to be busy and we will have houseguests, so I'm trying to get things ready to go now.
A super quick post tonight - a couple of people had asked what was in this envelope that I was working on for my Decmeber Daily (the envelope is by Studio Calico).
I will probably add some journaling to the tag, but so far here is what's in there:
I love the little price tags by Crate Paper because the numbers are written in glitter. And I've been making a bunch of little circle tags to use this year. I'll try and post some on my blog to download. That's all I've got so far. Thanks for stopping by!
Today has been the first day I've really been able to sit down and play with my December Daily goodies and I've been having so much fun. I went to Book Club this morning, then grabbed a "red cup" from Starbucks on the way home and started in. I hope to get a few foundation pages started.
The Halloween weekend was pretty busy. We went to the neighbors for a Halloween potluck and to go trick or treating on Thursday. My boys dressed up as Halo 4 characters.
On Friday my daughter had a Halloween/slumber party for her friends. We played "truth or scare" which is just like truth or dare but with a little Fear Factor thrown in.
Yesterday we had another party, a big storm and our power went out. I have been anxiously waiting for today when I can stop focusing on the craziness of Halloween and I can start thinking about the holidays. Are you working on your December Daily yet?
