I decided to change up my valentines this year. Instead of making valentine cards I am making lavender scented heart sachets.
I used a 6x6" paper pad from Crate Paper's new Love Notes collection. I love the blues in this collection, in addition to the traditional reds and pinks.
I simply sewed two paper hearts together about 3/4 of the way, filled them with dried lavender, and then sewed them the rest of the way shut.
I left a half inch border around the edge. I used pinking shears to trim around the heart to give them a decorative edge.
I used different patterned paper and embellishments for each heart. It was fun to personalize them.
You will need to poke small holes in the paper to allow the fragrance to come through. I traced around the stickers and embellishments.
I purchased my lavender in bulk from Amazon.com and even after making my sachets I have a lot left over. It smells wonderful though, and I can think of a lot of other projects to use it with.
These were such fun to make, and will be even more fun to give away!
